On Monday 17th June 2019, the Freezer Trawler, M/V Ran, was sold and delivered to its new owners, with Atlantic Shipping as brokers. The delivery of the vessel took place in the port of Esbjerg, Denmark.
M/V Ran is 60.13 x 11.00 m and was built at the Norwegian shipyard A.M. Liaaen, in 1971 as Sjúrdarberg for the Faroese company P/f J.F. Kjølbro.
In 1979 the vessel was sold to Mortan Johannesen and was named Enniberg. In 1989 the vessel was sold to Greenland and was named Antuut after that the vessel returned to the Faroe Islands in 1992 and got the name Ljósafelli. In 2005 Thor Fisheries purchased the vessel and named her Ran.
The vessel was sold from the Faroe Islands to Nigeria.
M/V Ran has been fishing very well through the years for the previous Faroese owners around the world, and Atlantic Shipping hopes that this will continue in its new waters.
